Who: Hijikata (
zumo) and Chizuru (
cannotcrossdress)
What: Just an innocent snow date.
When: 21st, early evening
Where: House 50 and surrounding area
Summary: Hijikata's finally been convinced to enjoy this "beautiful" weather and there is no way this will end in tears.
Rating: PG-13, language etc.
The village's latest brand of festivities has, predictably, not affected Hijikata in what could be considered a positive fashion. Some western holiday is no concern of his, as he has tried time and again to convince the annoying small person (animal?) who's taken up residence in their house. That, in fact, might be part of the reason he let himself be dragged out of that house in the first place. It's the solstice, after all, the longest night of the year. So if the sun has begun to set already by the time he steps outside, all the better.
But it's cold, and while many, Chizuru included, may find the snow-blanketed village beautiful, Hijikata can't see it as anything but a harsh reminder of his situation. He had been ripped away from frigid Ezo and dragged to Luceti, where it was suddenly mid-summer. Now it's winter again, and he can't decide if he should view this as gaining time, or losing it.
Without really looking over, Hijikata nonchalantly calls over to his housemate, watching his breath form a cloud in front of him. "Still not sure what I'm doing out here, exactly." His eyes trail over to the path that leads to the square; he could admit that the things they can do with these colorful electric lights and such are pretty interesting. An interesting distraction. Maybe that's what he needs.
