I-I don't know. I wasn't, ah, in-invited after all. And my knowledge on the matter of movies and the like is...decidedly lacking. I do believe I've overheard students talking about these though. Star Wars. There's...six of them all together, yes? But...you mean the Luke that is here? It's based on his life? No. You're joking. That's...well that's rather amazing but...are you sure?

[ This is perplexing but intriguing. ]
fleurdesel: right, smile, smirk, flirty (I'm happy)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-23 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I invited you, didn't I? Or did I just ask you to come- I'm sorry. I thought I told you that you were invited. Well. Now you are. Stay? Please? It's...easier. To ignore things when I have people I'm comfortable with in the room. [She didn't have to elaborate on what things there were for her to ignore, Helios knew pretty well as it was, and. Well. She wanted him here, to try to have a lighthearted evening.]

Not just Luke, but yes, he's here. Ben as well- Obi-Wan. Kenobi? His life is summed up in the first three, and Luke's in the second three. [She reaches out, slow, and careful, to squeeze Helios' wrist and give it a faint tug. After that she drops her hands.] Come in, sit down.
folklorist: (Sigh. Yes of course.)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
But I...ah. [ Adele why do you make it so hard for him to say no? A small understanding smile touches his lips. If it'll help her he certainly won't say no to staying. Besides he's rather free at the moment anyway. ] I understand. I'll stay but I'll have to leave every now and then to check on the house. You know how it goes. Two cats and a dog by themselves is simply speaking of disaster. [ And then a pause as he listens. ]

Oh. Oh! That's who you were referring to. Ben. Obi-Wan's name is... [ hm well now he feels slightly silly for not picking up on that. Derp.

Might get a very cold jolt from his skin Adele. He manages to curb his flinch and jumping to an almost unnoticeable level. Worst tension point to grab ever especially after the talk about Nero he had a few days ago. Still it's pretty unnoticeable and he lets out a small sigh smiling and nodding. ]
fleurdesel: right, confused, sarcastic (This is my innocent face)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-23 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. [A smile. Bright and unreserved and warm in a way she hasn't been in years, let alone since she arrived here.] I understand about ducking out to check on the house. I don't think they'd cause that much trouble but...it doesn't hurt to be safe, yes?

[Has she really only called him Ben? Ever? Adele lifts a shoulder and chuckles.] Yes, I. Didn't realize I've only ever called him Ben around you. It's a nickname. Like...I do not have one for you, actually. Or Ginia. Why are your names so hard to abbreviate?
folklorist: (Oh is that right)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-23 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ That's a nice smile on her and Helios is all too aware that it's never been used. But he's not one to talk. He hardly gives such genuine smiles as it is. But it's nice to see her happy and enjoying herself especially after the last week or so. ] No it doesn't, you can never be too safe in Luceti of all places. And w-well...Ginia isn't here so, ah. [ he must take care of everyone and all the pets. ]

I suppose it's because they're rather abbreviated as it is. The...uniqueness of them doesn't help much either. [ Though he has been called things before but none of them ever good. He isn't one for nicknames all that much, really. But he's sure if he were to get a good one it'd be from one of the creative people in this enclosure. ]

I'm sure you'll be able to think of something.
fleurdesel: center, smirk, smile, sarcastic (And I'm still right.)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-23 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I am the last person you need to talk to about a healthy amount of paranoia Helios. [She laughs, low and soft and tips her head in the direction of the sofa, turning to walk. Hmm. A nickname for Helios. Well. After a moment or two of consideration she smirks and looks back over.]

I think I have it! I am cheating, of course, and I do not know if it will translate or not. But. [She motions to one of the sofas.] Have a seat,Soleil. Ah, it sounds as it should! Wonderful. I am never terribly certain as to what will or will not be translated.

folklorist: (Peaceful: You wanted to talk?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-23 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes well at least yours is well met. Mine is just...born out of me spoiling our pets far too much. I used to do it back home as well. One reason I couldn't keep pets...I would have had the entire town's stray population walking the halls of my castle. [ Helios laughs lightly at his admitting of such things. He was a pet lover what can he say? ]

Soleil, hm? [ He smiles and takes a seat as she uses his newly earned nickname. ] That's...french for sun, isn't it? My French isn't as good as I'd like it to be so correct me if I'm wrong.
fleurdesel: center (I told you to watch your step)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-23 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It is indeed. [She huffs a soft laugh and settles back down in her bundle of blankets, tucking them around her legs again.] It fits you in two ways. For the one: Your name, and for two, you are always very warm and welcoming. A sunny disposition, I think it is called, yes?

I still do not know what I could use for Ginia. It will take some time, but, we have plenty of this here. Time enough for you to help me bake something that is actually palatable- they are over....[She twists to look over the back of the sofa, nodding at the counter across the way.] There. In the basket.
folklorist: (We can go with that)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-24 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
O-oh you, you think so? [ Sunny disposition huh? Helios smiles just a little more with that. ] I-I do try, at least, I hope I have one. It's dreadful to end up in a place entirely foreign and not have at least some people who are cheerful and welcoming. Not that Luceti's welcoming committee is lacking. [ But you can never have too much sunny or well rounded dispositions for this place.

Helios will follow Adele's pointing. ]
I hope everyone enjoys them. It's been awhile since I've made beignets.
fleurdesel: right, confused, sarcastic (This is my innocent face)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-24 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I had always assumed you and Ginia were the welcoming committee. [A shrug, a sheepish grin.]

Rems has already assured me that they are delicious, and I second that entirely. Were it not for how sore my arms are from working the dough I would never believe I had a hand in them.
folklorist: (Yes I do agree with that)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-25 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, well, we're part of the welcoming committee. It's quite big after all. [ He laughs. ]

It's surprisingly fulfilling, isn't it? Having a hand in making something delicious that everyone can enjoy, it's one of the reasons I love to cook at least. [ Making people happy with his food...it's nice and fulfilling in a way but he also enjoyed doing it too. ]
fleurdesel: right, smile, smirk, flirty (I'm happy)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-25 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Seeing Rems get so happy about them certainly did. I never really- nothing I made ever tasted as it should, really. So. It's new, this. Pride. But, thank you, really. I never would have managed them on my own. [Another bright, open smile, entirely unreserved.]
folklorist: (So you did like it then)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-25 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's a nice feeling to see evoked from something you did. [ He waves her off as if it's not an issue. ]

It's no trouble, really. I'm glad to have helped.
fleurdesel: left, smile, smirk (Ignore my smugness)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-25 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
I am honestly starting to believe you when you say I will not be so helpless in the kitchen in the future. Perhaps I can learn enough to make dinner for you in...three, four months?
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-25 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Good! There's no reason why you shouldn't start to believe in your skills. And I would like that, I look forward to it even. [ A nice dinner between the three of them, sounds lovely, remind him a bit of what he, Ginia, Frederic and Poland used to do. A pause as he thinks and then chuckles shaking his head. ]

We have a bit of a bad track record when it comes to dinners but, well, I certainly hope we can enjoy it together. The three of us or maybe four, depending.

[ It's be nice but really all their planned dinners usually got ruined one way or the other. ]/small>

...have I yet apologized for the double date? I think I have, but in case I have not, I am terribly sorry for. That whole...thing. It was a very poor attempt at something resembling normalcy and the very last time I try to apply anything my sisters told me about dating to my life ever, ever again.
folklorist: (Do go on I'm listening)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-25 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It's fine Adele. We weren't exactly ourselves last week. And, well, it-it could have gone worse. A bit awkward but, ah, it-it was still interesting. [ A small smile. ]

Wanting normalcy isn't something to apologize over at any rate. [ Sure it was a bit awkward but it's not as if anything too bad happened, right? ]
fleurdesel: left, smile, smirk (Ignore my smugness)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-26 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well. That attempt went...poorly. But! This is normal enough, is it not? The movie marathon with friends, snacks, beverages, soft cushions, etc. [She grins, relaxing more now that she was confident Helios wasn't leaving for awhile, at least.]

...even if I'm watching them with a wizard, a beast, ninja turtles, Two Jedi, a fictional thief's grandson...I need to stop thinking about that. Normal night, normal...ish. Friends. For Luceti. [Shaking her head, she laughs.]
folklorist: (Sneaky: I do like the sound of that)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-02-26 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ He'll take a seat...awkwardly, tentatively too. It was quite strange being in another person's apartment that you didn't know very well. ] It's certainly normal. Then again I...haven't seen a movie or-or watched television in a very long time. It's, ah, different! Than what I would normally do on a week night. But Luceti does open a person up to less than...normal occurrences.

[ He waves his hand in an all encompassing gesture. ] Just have to get used to it I suppose. As for the company of tonight you might be the first to say that you have had a movie night with said people. I bet some here would be rather jealous. [ A small chuckle as he leans back getting a bit more comfortable. ]
fleurdesel: center, smirk, smile, sarcastic (And I'm still right.)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-02-26 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we are even footing. I simply never had the time before, Remy would have to kidnap me at the end of my shifts at the hospital to see me to any kind of entertainment. [A soft laugh and she pats the sofa next to Helios' shoulder, rather than his shoulder proper.]

I suppose I could. I know my ex-husband would be terribly jealous for one. And. Strange as it is, it is not so strange at all. I am among friends, yes? What is more normal than that? [One last quick smile and she's weaving her way back to her seat, curling up in her blankets as she has before...at least as soon as she steals it back from Gambit.]
folklorist: (I'm just your average headmaster yep)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-03-01 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Remy, hm? He seems like quite the friend. Given your profession a bit of-of entertainment can go a long way can't it? It's nice to sit back and relax once in awhile. [ Says the man who always overworks himself. ]

Nothing at all. Enjoying the company of ones friends and the like is about as normal as you can get. It's...nice, all of this. I-I never got to do such things much, back home. [ Not having any friends would make such things hard, yes. ]

Thank you for, ah, in-inviting me. Despite my obvious lack of knowledge in these things.
fleurdesel: left, smile, smirk (Ignore my smugness)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-03-01 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
You are my friend as well Helios, I had to invite you. I am sorry I was not more clear in my invitation before, I thought I had made it clear when you helped me with the delicious beignets. [Blanket stolen back she tucks it around her and offers Helios a soft, sincere smile.]

I am glad you chose to stay. I think you might like the movies, they are quite fantastical, even with the futuristic aspects.
folklorist: (Do go on I'm listening)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-03-01 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh it's no hard feelings, Adele! [ A smile back at her. ]

It'll be...interesting, yes? These ah movies I've...heard about them from my students. And they always sounded intriguing I just never knew where to start. Too far behind and there's quite a lot out isn't there?
fleurdesel: center, smirk, smile, sarcastic (And I'm still right.)

[personal profile] fleurdesel 2012-03-01 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a little better to be behind. That way others might tell you if the movies to be seen are worth seeing or not.
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-03-01 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose you're right. But movies nowadays are something of a cultural and social norm aren't they? People go to see them to connect with others. I-I never really thought of it before. [ But now that he is... ]

But, ah, I-I should really take a look at more of them now that I think about it.
