Honesty. Integrity. Compassion. Sincerity. Traits she has seen far too little of in her life. Traits Ben has in spades. No matter his failures, he was, is, and ever shall be a good man, an honorable Jedi Knight. That much she knows. Of that, she is certain.
When Ben releases her hand she takes a moment to rub her palm and knuckles, leaning into his side. Her head finds that little curve, that faint nook easily enough and she closes her eyes. She's seen the ending before. Right now she's content to breathe for Ben, should he need it.]

His arm tightens a bit around Adele's shoulders as Palpatine approaches the young Anakin. It had seemed so innocent at the time, little more than a professional curiosity, an acknowledgement of the boy's feat aboard the droid ship, but in hindsight he could see it for how sinister it truly was.
He finally withdraws his arms from around Adele as the end credits rolled- as if he had only just realized what he was doing- and sighed.]
"I am sorry if I hurt your hand."
[He knew holding her as he had toward the end of the movie was foolish, dangerous. A bad idea, to rely upon an emotional connection for strength and resolve. It fosters attachment, and destroys focus.]

[Adele had, she was more than a little ashamed to say, dozed off a bit at the end there. She only comes too when Ben pulls his arms away, she sits up on her own and rubs at her eyes, wincing when she uses the hand Ben had been holding. Apparently she'd been wrong, purple smudges were beginning to bloom around her fingers and knuckles, where the pressure had been the worst. She gives her hand an experimental flex, twitches at the sensation, and curls her fingers to her palm one by one. Sore, a little tender, but not terrible.]
It is not the worst I've endured Ben. You're forgiven.
