Who: Silver and Mithos and maybe probably joined by Sayo at some point
What: ...who knows, honestly. Something akin to "bonding" except it's kind of awkward and one-sided-ly hostile.
When: August 14th-20th
Where: Building 2, room 1; the garden outside House 11
Summary: Frey takes a week off to cope with Kaori's departure and Silver steps in to assume his responsibilities of keeping an eye on Mithos. Things happen.

[His days carry on much as they have for the past two months since Martel disappeared, with two devastating exceptions. One, he no longer looks forward to secret visits from Kaori, and two, she has been incorporated into the rituals of his day. He folds in on himself in his room, grasping at memories and thoughts and emotions that are more than he can handle; he tortures himself with the imprints of the two departed voices from his journal; he seeks solace in the familiar music of the panpipes; he meticulously cares for the small potted plant his best friend had given him only weeks before she left. Sometimes he reads, but finds that he can't focus for more than a few minutes as the same memories, thoughts, and emotions take root in his mind all over again and it never ends. The only time of the day when anything gets better is the moment Sayo comes home.

It might be time for a change in the routine...]

[A change in the routine indeed. Silver's not sure what compelled him to agree to this, but- but here he is, about to check on Mithos.

Knock knock. ...He's supposed to knock, right? Not just step in and- what is he even supposed to do? Go "hey, you're here, you haven't snuck out and shocked anyone in the past day, have you?"]

[He isn't going to answer that. He is very busy with very important things that are not at all obsessive or unhealthy. The front door is unlocked, though. After all, what kind of apartment can be locked from the outside? And locking it from the inside would only give Mithos the power to ignore his warders. As much as he'd like to shut them out, he has no choice but to comply, with the threat of being returned to the tunnels looming over him.]

[...Yep. He's already got a bad feeling about this. He carefully peeks the door open and looks around before heading in, quietly closing it behind him.]

Anyone home? [This feels so weird. What is he, a main character? He can't just stroll through houses with unlocked doors...]

[When he hears the faint sounds from down the hallway, he cocks his head and strains to listen. Because he thought that sounded like... He quietly stands up from his seat by the window, where Kaori's plant sits on the ledge.]

[...Man, Sneasel, this is gonna be such a pain, isn't it? Ugh-

Silver starts quietly peeking his head through doors- he's used to this, so it's really a noiseless process. No Mithos, no Mithos, no Mithos...]

[He's at the end of the hall, inconveniently enough. His eyes remain on the door, waiting in apprehension.]

[Not Mithos, not Mithos- oh. Mithos. Hi Mithos.]

Hey. [No, seriously, what's he supposed to do?]

[His eyes briefly flick down to Sneasel before returning to glare coldly at Silver. So he heard right.]

What are you doing here?

Frey's taking a vacation. He asked me to come check on you.

[...He can quickly guess the reason for the abrupt vacation, and he's silent for a beat.]

...I'm here, and I haven't gone anywhere.

[...] Are you always just stuck in here?

Of course I am. [That's the whole point.]

And how long do they expect you to stay in here?

...Until I change, I suppose. [The bitterness with which he imbues that word should make his thoughts on the matter clear enough.]

[He pauses for a moment to think this one over... Before nodding.]

Let's go, then.

[He doesn't know what he expected to hear from SIlver, but it wasn't that.] ...What?

How do they expect you to change if you're stuck in the same place doing the same thing? Let's head out for a while.

...I don't understand.

There's not much to understand. Staying cramped up in one place for too long will drive you nuts. Doing anything for too long's gonna get to you.

We head out of here for a few hours, do something, and head back in. As long as I keep an eye on you it shouldn't be a big deal. If it is, I'll take the blame. [So basically "fuck the police, I do what I want."]

[It's a lot to try to understand. He's completely caught off guard by the notion that Silver would accept blame, and the motive is lost on him.] Why are you doing this?

Why not? [He doubts that Mithos would believe him if he tried to explain it further anyway.]

Because I don't trust you to not inform Raine or Freyjadour, and I refuse to go back to that cell. You could easily fabricate an account of me trying to attack someone or insist that I forced my way out.
