The setup for the party is pretty simple. Several coolers filled with ice for drinks (soda, bottled water, juice, assorted alcohol and mixers) with cups nearby, a food table with some cookies and cake from the bakery, two sandwich platters, some salads, fresh fruit, and a veggie platter. There's a grill going for roast vegetables, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, and fresh seafood, often run by Ginia but anyone else who wants to watch the grill or grill their own food is welcome to do so. People are also more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks. There's driftwood set up in a small firepit for once the sun goes down.

There are a few folding chairs and blankets spread out for anyone who wants to sit down as well as a card table or two.

Relax, meet new people, enjoy the food, and watch out for ghosts or shifts that might ruin your food.

((ooc: Handwaving the IC announcement of the party. Characters can still drop by even without checking in on the post (though that would be great for stats purposes). Feel free to say your character was there for set up and later take down, it's mostly handwaved unless people want to play things out.))

[Beautiful? Maybe, but not Remy's normal go to for beauty, but he was really never one for star gazing.] Glad ya found something out of it 'least chere, even if it doesn't help our escape from here.

So what to next, some other big project that might require more welds?

[Jane laughed as she kicked at the surf.]

Nothing I can think of. But I doubt that's the extent of your talents, welding things. Will you tell me more about what you can do?

My powers be more of an explosive nature normally, kinetic energy based. Heat 'nd light be a side product of it all, hot 'nough to melt glass or metal, or low 'nough to reheat a coffee cup.

Though, wouldn't mind bein' a guinea pig if ya can figure out how to turn my explosions into pistons for a bike or similar, 'ssumin' I get to test it out. [Maybe something to bring up with Tony Stark instead, the man seems that he would be keen to give an idea like that a go.]

[She nodded and thought for a moment. He could probably see the wheels turning in her mind.]

Well, energy is energy, we just need a way to harness it. I don't see why it has to be explosive. I wonder if I could build something that would store the energy you make, kind of like a battery, and then we could use it for other things.

You sure you don't mind being a guinea pig?

'nd wouldn't mind a chance for a few extra comforts of home that only more substantial forms of energy can provide. [Ok, maybe the idea of a motorbike was a bit over the top, but damn if Remy missed his back home.

And it would make getting across the size of the dome easier. Being able to fuel it was another story, but not a bridge to even think about crossing until later.]

'nd storin' be the problem. Most items either go boom, or burn to ashes.

No no, none of that. I'm just a scientist, not a doctor. I have no interest in doing any kind of probing.

I don't think anybody would object to a few more comforts. But not things going boom. I'll have to think about this for a while before we get to the experimentation phase.

Ya know where to find me cherie, ain't like got 'lot of places to go.

Though from what I heard, surprised ya haven't tried hookin' ya beau up as a wind turbine 'nd gettin' power that way.

[And that gets a snort from her.]

I haven't exactly been focused on power sources. I have to make the equipment that needs the power first, and from what I've been able to gather so far, it's going to be near impossible. There's not much laying around that I can scavenge.

Oui, may not 'ppreciate our guards, can understand their thinkin'. Ya don't give prisoners access to tools.

Though, makes it helpful to be extra resourceful then. Sure talkin' to the right people can help with that. [Maybe some of the benders or magic users. Creative thinking.]

Of course they're not going to make it easy on us to find a way out of here. But if they bothered to do their research, it's not like I was able to get it to work when I was at home, so the odds that I'd suddenly have a stroke of genius here and build a functioning wormhole generator are pretty slim.

Then again, I didn't have handy people like you helping me out back at home.

True, but got some good minds here that might have done similar in the past 'nd ya just be the missin' piece to gettin' it all finished. Well worth lookin' into.

[Although.] 'ssumin' can get us back to our own worlds, or ya goin' to end up with a bunch of us where ya be from.

Right now I'm just shooting for getting back to Earth. It may not be home for everyone but at least it's better than being stuck here, right?

'nd miss out on all of this? [Remy asked as he spread his hands out to indicate around them, more towards the dome they were stuck in than just the beach.]

Though suppose ya right, can take it from there 'nd then start punchin' holes through the walls of other universes. But I expect a job lined up for me there at least.

A job? I can't guarantee anything, but... what did you have in mind?

[A joke, really. But in all seriousness, and who knows, maybe she would pull it off.] Security, I guess. [Until he got to know how her world worked, where he could make contacts, get tools, what was valuable and who wanted it. Remy assumed most worlds were the same; someone always wanted what another had. He just got it for them, for the right price.]
